HOW CAN YOU BECOME A MORE EFFECTIVE LEADER IN THE CHURCH’S NEW CULTURAL CONTEXT?

The MINISTRY ENTREPRENEURSHIP CERTIFICATE PROGRAM guides you in thinking beyond the old ways of doing church so that you become a more effective leader. The program is designed for pastors and other ministry leaders seeking innovative ways of addressing ministry challenges today.

SESSIONS

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Emotional Intelligence (EI) is widely seen as the differentiating factor of great leaders, perhaps even more important than IQ. In this hands-on session, you will develop your understanding of EI, identify your EI strengths and areas of potential growth, and learn ways you can harness and improve your EI to become a better leader. Presented by Stephanie Fischer.

SUSTAINING WHILE DISRUPTING
In this session you will learn about disruptive and sustaining leadership, the different skills each requires, and the particular challenges religious leaders face in practicing both at the same time. Presented by Dr. F. Douglas Powe and Dr. Lovett H. Weems, Jr.

DESIGN THINKING
Design thinking is an approach to problem solving that deeply involves the intended beneficiaries in the creation of a solution. In this session you will learn about the iterative, hands-on process intended to stimulate innovation and creative thinking. Originally developed in Silicon Valley to help make computers more people-friendly, design thinking has been embraced by the social sector as an alternative to top-down, know-it-all expert-driven change efforts. Presented by Robert Tomasko.
